Silvia Bauer: Re-Cycle, Re-Use, Re-Think. Poetic Recycling. Waste No More. (Zagreb)

Silvia Bauer was born in Vienna and lives and works in Brussels. She graduated in sculpture from the Watermael-Boitsfort Art Academy in Brussels in 2005.
A particular characteristic of Silvic Bauer’s artistic work is the adaptation of the artwork to the material and the use of all its possibilities. The aim is to breathe new life into discarded objects and materials from today’s consumer world. The aim is to breathe new life into discarded objects and materials from today’s consumer world. Cardboard boxes, car tires, chipped porcelain, used work gloves, ventilation grilles – the discarded objects are transformed and given a sculptural value. The results are surprisingly strong and sensual sculptures.
The materials and objects gain new meaning through the dialog and offer the viewer new sensory experiences. The exhibition was presented at the Zuccato Gallery in Porec in August 2024, and after Zagreb it will travel to the Cultural Forum in Budapest.
